Welcome to St. Brigid's Girls' High School Careers Department. The department has gone a long way in encouraging and stirring up the students to achieve higher goals. It prepares, enlightens and moulds learners to their desired future careers and occupations. We do insist our girls understand themselves first, their story; ability and what kind of 'vehicle' will take them to where they want to go and be. It really eats into our time and commitments but we spare time to cope up with such challenges.
"We have guided students who are now great people in the society. We have never tired up and we will not start now. "With the support the department receives from it's members and the school, it is geared towards the best in the future because career services in any Kenyan school today are vital. This is so because of career placement, which happens to be one of the long-term goals of education. f education is to realize this goal, then learners should have appropriate career information and undertake career exploration before making career choices. At St. Brigid's Girls this aspect of learning is effectively handled under the context of careers.
Careers Office focuses on the following services, among others;
1. Career education at all levels
2. In Form One: Creating career awareness,
3. In Form Two: Subject selection, understanding one's personality and making career choices
4. Form Three & Form Four: Preparation for the job market, Career planning and placement.
The career's role in the school is to foster the career development of learners and enable them to choose the right courses for their higher levels of education. Lack of this important facility in any high school would undermine the economic productivity of a country due to lack of proper career preparation, training, placement and satisfaction.
Finally, it is important to note that career success is both about what one does apply one's technical knowledge, skills and ability and how one does it [the consistent behavior one demonstrates and chooses to use while interacting and communicating with others.
